Best Big Brother Award goes to...
Brothers can be real pains, but if you look under all of the layers of annoyingness, mean planks (aka picking on each other, because let's be honest, all siblings do that.), and fights, there's a sibling bond. Because I had seizures from the age of 6 to the age of 11, my brother was the one that I woke up at night to get our parents. I don't know how he did it. I would wake him up at almost any hour of the night, I felt bad about it but I didn't really have another choice. We did that for 5 years. You may think that's not as bad as you're making it sound like. Imagine if you woke up in the middle of the night to your little sister making noises and seeing her laying in bed shaking, and all you could do is go tell your parents, pray and just wait for her to come out of it. It is not a pretty picture. I really don't know how he did it. I like to think that I have a special relationship with my brother because of all that we've been through. He taught me how to crawl as a little kid, and one time we sat on our beds and talked about what we could do with the field that we have. I truly believe that if there was a Best Big Brother Award it would to my brother, Kyle.

Nothing's impossible with God
I was looking back on the journey I've been on for 16 years and 318 days, and I'm amazed, blown away even. You see, when I was born I was crashing, I had a heartbeat of 40 and I was pretty much gone. The doctors didn't expect me to walk, talk, or even respond to anyone. I spent two weeks in the hospital after I was born. The day after I came home I went to therapy at CDRD, the therapist was amazed at how well I was doing. I was responding to my mom. I did years and years of all different kinds of therapy, PT, OT, ST (speech), I danced for therapy, swam for therapy, rode horses for therapy, I ice skated for fun but it was also therapy. You name anything that might be therapy and I probably did it. Almost 17 years later, I can walk without a walker, I can jump while holding onto something, I can talk clearer than I used to, I dance without a walker or people holdin me up, I can ride a horse without anyone near me, I can pretty much swim with only a belt and no help, ice skating...well, I haven't ice skated for years but I don't think I can skate without a walker or help...yet. My point is that I shouldn't be alive today, I've literally done the impossible and it's because of God. A friend of mine kinda inspired this post by encouraging me a few week ago while I was going through a rough time. I am very excited to see what's next on this journey that God's taking me on!
