This song was sung many many times throughout this summer at Hume Lake Christian Camps. My youth group, The Annex has been going to this camp for nine years now. Hume is located in Northern California, East of Fresno. This camp is currently in danger of a wildfire, over four hundred firemen are fighting to keep camp safe. The song that is above this has been in my head since two weeks ago, and it's a great reminder that God is a good good Father and we are loved by Him. It's just who we are. As the firefighters and cooks are still on the mountain God's hand is over them, He's protecting them and the camp. I was counseling at Camp Harlow when I heard about the situation, and on the last day of camp, we prayed for Hume and none of the counselors knew that we were going to pray for the camp, there was at least five people on staff who had either been there a few years ago or were just there about four weeks ago. It surprised us, but the also overwhelmed us with happiness and joy, that our camp would pray for this incredible camp that we were just at. I honestly almost cried. I was happy but scared of the what ifs, what if Hume burns down, what if we lose our California home, what if we can't go next year because of the damage caused by the fire. I'm a senior, I only have one more year there. I can't imagine not going back, even if I do go next year, I'll cry coming down the mountain. It's that amazing and fun. So please pray for Hume, it's safe for now but there's still some possibilities for the fire to reach camp. I believe this is day twenty-three. But God is a good good Father and He has a plan for Hume, whether it's safe, or it gets burned down, He has a plan. #prayforhume #roughfire
